Corbiere Lighthouse

Being a Jersey boy it was inevitable that I would draw Corbiere Lighthouse. The lighthouse was a friendly sight to Sailors and myself; for Sailors as it warded them off the nearby rocks that presented danger to boats at low tide; and for me as it signaled the end of the infamous Jersey Railway Walk and the imminent reward of ice cream for my hard work.

I have put my own spin replacing the Western Lighthouse style with a traditional Mid Century Japanese Lighthouse. The Japanese Lighthouse has the most wonderful Lampshade design, and I enjoyed drawing the village who maintains it.

Detail is important to me and in particular capturing the shape of the rocks, the shadows and plant life that surrounds them.

If you enjoyed this, you can take it home as a print at my Shop.
